Busy Time

Sorry for the lack of recent posts, but this is definitely my busiest time of year with regard to church, family, and party obligations. I'm currently finalizing the plans for tomorrow night's Lincoln County Reagan Day Dinner. Hopefully I'll be able to get back to some normalcy (a relative term, as far as I'm concerned) soon. In the meantime, you can have a look at my recap of the SMTRMC meeting here.

Oh.

I just now came across these comments, after already responding to the one made at the Reagan Day Dinner post.

I assume you also hold John Kennedy and Lyndon Johnson responsible for the My Lai Massacre.

Maybe you're right. Maybe there isn't a valid comparison. After all, the troops who committed the atrocity at My Lai were under the command of the U.S. Presidents who oversaw the war during that period.

The event you cite took place by people who were not under the direct authority of President Reagan.

For the record, I don't hold Kennedy and Johnson any more responsible for what American troops did at My Lai than I do Reagan for all that some other government's thugs did in El Salvador. Just doesn't seem consistent to hold presidents of differing parties to different standards in such matters.
